In the works
In the future...  I will be working on Christmas stockings made from Jackie's daughter's baby clothes.
My oldest son is always very specific about his birthday cakes. This year he wanted a cake in the shape of a space shuttle. I used the white cake recipe from the Deliciously Deceptive cookbook (pumpkin and yogurt) and it was very yummy.

TEACHER APPRECIATION GIFT:
My oldest son's kindergarten class www.highlandschristian.org worked together to create a unique quilt for their teacher. Each student drew a picture and wrote their name on a piece of fabric. Pictures were taken that day, as well as on a recent field trip to Butterfly World http://butterflyworld.com/start.html. Using Mrs. Meriwether's favorite color, I created a quilt from the students' artwork and photos. The center block of the quilt held her favorite bible verse. "...let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
The students presented her with the gift near the end of the school year.

Another gift was made for the teacher's assistant. She received a reversible tote bag that had a pocket for displaying pictures. When the kids' presented it to Mrs. Mottman there was a class picture inside the pocket.

A BIG THANK YOU to the parents who helped cover the cost of materials for these gifts.
